Hello everyone

A happy new year to one and all.

John O'Sullivan opened the meeting (attendance 17) by thanking Esther Walshe for a tremendous new year's eve party  -  the craic was great, food superb and the music provided by Esther's brother on guitar/harmonica went down well, not forgetting his son who gave us a rendition of some of the latest pop songs.  A good time was had by all!  Thank you for your hospitality Esther!

It was nice to welcome four new members, Marie, Soo, Vicky and Eunice and to welcome back Oliver who attended our meetings regularly some three to four years ago.  A very warm welcome to you all.

Before breaking up for the social part of the evening, there was a brief introduction/sharing by all present.

The Christmas meal at Rifles on Saturday 20th December was most enjoyable.  The Bee Gees theme band was just great as well as the comedian who worked so hard at audience participation even asking Ana (sitting next to me) what the acronym ASDC stood for but moved on quickly when there was a slight hesitation responding!  We shall have to be prepared next time and think of something humorous.

John expressed concerns about the continuation of the publication New Vision which is presently financed by the National Committee and asked everyone to consider contributing to this which is £6.00 per year for six copies and is very good value because it keeps you informed of the activities of other groups in the UK.  The magazines will be on display again at our meeting on Sunday 1st February.

John offered apologies for the problems he has been having with his Mobile phone due to poor reception in his area resulting from incompatible network connections and has suggested callers either text him or leave a message.

Events/Publicising our Meetings  -  the Westminster Record published by Westminster Cathedral and comes out four/five times a year would be a good platform to advertise the club.  It is sent to at least seventy parishes and the Harrow Group already advertise in this  -  John will find out more information and report back at the next meeting.

Workshops on Divorce/Beginning Experience etc.  John and also Joe Conserdine recently attended a weekend Divorce Recovery Workshop (ecumenical) in Muswell Hill and briefly explained how the weekend was structured.  The 'Beginning Experience' (Catholic) was also discussed and the contact name/venue where it is normally held.  If anyone is interested please get further details from John.
